Pingvin Rugby Club warmly welcomes youth teams from across Europe and from further away to the 14th edition of the Trelleborg Rugby Festival. The festival is a cooperation between the municipality of Trelleborg and Pingvin Rugby Club and has been a great success for the participants, the rugby club and the town of Trelleborg.

Facts

Pingvin Rugby Club is based in Trelleborg in the south of Sweden and close to Copenhagen , Denmark . Pingvin RC has youth teams ranging from seven to nineteen years old, two senior teams, a ladies team and an old boys team. Apart from several years as Swedish champions in the 90-ies, the club has really put its name on the international rugby map as host of the internationally known Trelleborg Rugby Festiva, which is heldl annually every August.  

 

The Trelleborg Rugby Festival was first held 1997, and has always been a popular local attraction as well as enjoyable focus point of the rugby club. Youth teams from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Great Britain , Ireland, Germany , Poland , Holland , The Baltic States, Rumania, have participated over the years and it has been a great success.

Age Groups
This year, Pingvin Rugby Club and Trelleborg invite teams from the the following age groups:

U11 Boys and girls born 02 -99 7 á side + 5 substitutes 2 x 10 min
U13 Boys and girls born 00-97 9 á side + 5 substitutes 2 x 10 min
U15 Boys born 97 - 95 12 á side + 5 substitutes 2 x 12 min
U17 Boys born 95 - 93 12 á side + 5 substitutes 2 x 15 min
F15 Girls born 98 - 95 7 á side + 5 substitutes 2 x 10 min
F17 Girls born 96 - 93 7 á side + 5 substitutes 2 x 12 min


Players born 1st of September - 31st of December are accepted in the younger group.
Note that girls are allowed to play mixed U11-U13.  
Team presentation has to be verified with ID-card or passport when requested.

All clubs have to bring a referee to the tournament for each level they participate, except U17. If not, it has to be communicated in advance and charged with 500 SEK.


Accommodation & pre-paid meals
Trelleborg will be able to serve you accomodation depending on your preferences.
The offers are found on the website www.trelleborg.se/turism and have to be booked directly by your club.
In case teams prefer a cheaper alternative, it is possible to book  a classroom or athletic hall to sleep on the floor, using your own bed arrangements.(Sleeping mat, sleeping bag etc). Please book this already when registering your teams (50 SEK/night/person).

Pingvin Rugby Club offers breakfast (30 SEK), lunch (60 SEK) and dinner (60 SEK) during the weekend - also to be booked and payed in advance.
During the tournament the club will have coffee, tea, soft drinks, sweets and fast food available for purchase.

Getting to Trelleborg
It’s easier than you think. With it’s 25 minute proximity to both Sturup Airport east of Malmö and the big international hub Kastrup Airport in Copenhagen, there are plenty of low fares airlines to choose from.

Pingvin Rugby Club can arrange pickup for teams arriving by flight to Malmö Sturup. For teams arriving in Copenhagen Kastrup, we suggest taking the train over the bridge to reach Malmö and the connection bus No. 146 to Trelleborg.  

AerLingus, EasyJet, Norwegian, AirBerlin, Cimber Air, Bmibaby, Wizzair and Transavia are but a few examples of low cost airlines. Besides these, the larger airlines, such as SAS, Lufthansa and KLM have several good deals if booked good time in advance.

Also, ferries operated by TT-Line and Scandlines link German ports such as Sassnitz, Rostock and Travemünde directly to Trelleborg.

Tournament Fee and Registration
The tournament fee is 2000 SEK for the club, which includes one team. Each additional team (age group) costs an additional 300 SEK.
The tournament fee is not refundable.

Please pay the Tournament Fee to our Swedbank bank account in Trelleborg, Iban No. SE3080000821493033013917, Swift address SWEDSESS, marked "Trelleborg Rugby Festival 2010 + club & team name" no later than July 1st 2010.
(Swedish teams can pay directly to our Swedbank "Bankgiro" account 5118-4133 with the same marking as above.)

For a valid submission of teams we ask all participating clubs to fill in the Registration Form found in the invitation below and e-mail/fax/send it to Pingvin Rugby Club. All meals, breakfasts, gym halls etc should be noted on this form.
